Laveen schools will begin administering state achievement testing in April. Students in Grades 3-8 will take Arizona’s Measurement of Educational Readiness to Inform Teaching (AzMERIT). The AzMERIT test measures students’ skills in English language arts (ELA) and mathematics. Students in 4th and 8th grade will continue to take the AIMS science test, in addition to AzMERIT. Students who are enrolled in an Algebra or Geometry class, will also take an AzMERIT end of course (EOC) assessment. Thanks to the continued support of our community, Laveen School District will to administer the AzMERIT assessment via its online platform.

For more information on the testing as well as schedules and tips for success, read the letter from the Academic Services Department.
